SOPA Breaks The Internet

PROTECT-IP is a bill that has been introduced in the Senate and the House and is moving quickly through Congress. It gives the government and corporations the ability to censor the net, in the name of protecting “creativity”. The law would let the government or corporations censor entire sites– they just have to convince a judge that the site is “dedicated to copyright infringement.”

The government has already wrongly shut down sites without any recourse to the site owner. Under this bill, sharing a video with anything copyrighted in it, or what sites like Youtube and Twitter do, would be considered illegal behavior according to this bill.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, this bill would cost us $47 million tax dollars a year — that’s for a fix that won’t work, disrupts the internet, stifles innovation, shuts out diverse voices, and censors the internet. This bill is bad for creativity and does not protect your rights.

Tell Congress not to censor the internet NOW!

Godzirra Space Roll

History was made on January 1, 2012 when a small restaurant sushi chain sent the first, wait for it.. sushi roll into space.  Sticky Rice sent their popular roll, Godzirra into space as a unique marketing experience to celebrate the new year.

This was shot for a small chain of restaurants called Sticky Rice. They have a long history of doing marketing their own way and we knew they would love this idea.

In collaboration with RVA TV and Bark Marketing, Sticky Rice launched a sushi plate of their popular Godzirra roll on January 1st of this year. Six months of planning and testing went into this project as a lot of variables were at play: -60F in space, FAA regulations, overheating or freezing batteries, GPS issues, stabilization, and how to make the damn sushi stay together in high winds.

Our team is hoping for national attention and plan to make a shorter commercial for local air play. We loved the Toshiba ‘Chair in Space’ commercial and it was the basis of this project wondering if it could happen on a shoe-string budget for a small business.

Getty Swag: Retro19

As a photo editor I run into some bizarre photo’s on the stock agency world.  Some great, awe-inspiring shots and some that are just too awesome for words.  Don’t get me wrong.  It’s a competitive, tedious and tremendous work to sell to a stock agency especially Getty Images.  But sometimes I love the ones they include.  Here’s one image I really, really like.  Love this photographer’s humor.
