I started a new video series called Dear Industry with my buddy Eph, Red Kind Media. I shot a personal video on Fev back in March. Being a photographer in this industry I meet many different people everyday. Artists, designers, musicians, and the list keeps going. I find every one of my conversations with these professionals fascinating and I wanted to start sharing their stories with you guys.
DEAR INDUSTRY
Artists, creators, performers, entrepreneurs. They share their thoughts, beginnings, experiences and dreams. Dear Industry interviews and documents young professionals to understand what it takes to make one’s mark. This is their open letter. Here’s UFO FEV:

Got a call this morning from my buddy Eph out in Indiana. He’s been out there working for the last two weeks with Victory MFG. I have been working on a video on a musician I know, Anthony Ortiz or better known in some circles as UFO Fev. Fev was born and raised on the east side of Harlem. Surrounded by music all his life, I interviewed Fev to see what motivates him and the moments in his life that helped shape him as an artist.

In this week’s instalment of “Tuesdays With Lauri” we take a look at my latest conceptual photograph, titled “Realms of Reality”. We go through the photoshop-file, layer by layer, and along the way I explain some of the decisions I made, while editing.
This series will be continued next Tuesday, with a detailed two-part tutorial on how I created the custom brush, created the smoke from scratch and colour-graded the image.

I’ve been shooting personal videos for the past few months since I got back from Korea. I’m planning to splice them all together by the end of the year to document my past year. A photographer I assist: JP, asked to check some of the clips out and asked if it was ok to use some of the footage for a BTS (Behind the Scenes) reel. Why not? Here’s a video I shot at one of the shoots with Marina.
